Baptism at Church

We had visitors who came to our Church. We had a lovely teaching and after prayers, ADAMS a young man who had received Jesus requested for a baptism. We boarded their vans and went to River Yala.

Accompanied by other pastors from headquarter, I read the verses, then they dipped him in water as a sign of dying and rising with Jesus. There were celebrations as the congregations, and even those women who were washing clothes at the river, joined in praising the Lord.

Free Medical Clinic

It was a day of relief as many patients turned out in large numbers to get freeĀ  treatment. Yes, due to poverty level many can’t afford to get treatment at government hospitals which do not only have few drugs but are far and out of reach.

This has made many to resort to Panadol to relieve the pains for all illness. Typhoid, Asthma, AIDS, Malaria, Pneumonia, etc. Thank God for the Team for the Help. At least they get treatment once in many years.

Visit from Canadians

Today we were privileged to welcome a team of white Canadians who visited our village. They got to painting of a laboratory they built at Bar Olengo health centre. They will conduct free medical camp in various places to help treat the sick. Here we have people suffering from eye, ear, tooth problems. But since they can’t afford to raise the amount required, they opt to stay at home. There for when such blessings come, people turn out in large numbers. In the last 2 years we had a team of Korean doctors. Thanks to God for this team.

Genesis 12

Now the Lord had said to Abram. Get out of your country, from your kindred, and from your fathers house, to a land which I will show you. I will make u a great nation, I will bless you. And make your name great. I will bless those who bless you and curse him who curses you and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. It means that we are called into salvation. Where we have to let go all the evil ways, worshiping idols which our fathers did,. Abram was a great man of God. The Lord did speak to him, just the way he is speaking to us, but v4 says that he took his brother lot, wife, servants whom I am sure carried there small gods. v7 the Bible says that he was just shown the promised land. Why because he had gone against what God said. Then he passed thru it and headed to Egypt. because of famine.. you see disobeying God leads to famine , problems which can make people go back to older ways. Finally when he separated with lot, it is then that the Lord shown him the land.

Genesis 13, 14

And the lord said to Abram after Lot had separated from him. Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are.

Genesis 15

I give you all the Land..it means that we have to make sure that we are following the Lords direction s if we want blessings.. In other words, we have to be faithful, we have to shun all the evil ways that our father, families were doing. We have to be born again to be Saved.. through Jesus blood.. amen. Am glad we were blessed. The widows and orphans were prayed for.

Snakes

Verse Acts 28.3
Black Momba Snake

Black Momba Snake

But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened on his hand. So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand they said that Paul was a murderer and that justice was not going to let him live. But he shook off the snake into the fire and suffered no harm.

God has been with us just the way he was with Paul.

SNAKE ATTACKS

10805076_735197896556864_213211231_nThis area is mostly covered with bushes and wild animals and especially snakes seek hiding places in our cracked walls and floor. More so they pursue frogs which hide behind water pots called Dapi in Luo. There have been many incidences where I just woke up and found a snake under my bed or entering through the roof. The sad thing about it is that our kids sleep on the floor. And without God’s protection we fear for the lives. To make it worse, there are no anti-venom drugs at the nearest health centres, and sometimes even at the District hospital 15km away. In the last 3 years 2 people died from snake bites while over 5 were treated by a local herbalist called Miyere. He is the one person the community relys on.
