Parents and teachers of Bar Olengo Secondary School gathered at church to pray for our Form Four candidates as they prepare for their final examinations.
With only two weeks remaining before the exams, the candidates are making their final preparations for this important stage of their academic journey. As parents and teachers, we understand the importance of standing together in prayer to encourage and support them during this critical period.
During our prayers, we asked God to protect every candidate from sickness, accidents, anxiety, and anything else that might prevent them from sitting their examinations. We also prayed for good health, wisdom, understanding, confidence, and peace of mind as they prepare to do their best.
Beyond academic preparation, we believe that prayer is an essential part of preparing our children for the future. We trust God to guide them, strengthen them, and help them remember everything they have learned.
However, preparation for examinations also comes with practical challenges. Some candidates, including Wesley, had lost their calculators and other essential stationery needed for the examinations. Seeing the importance of ensuring that every candidate was adequately prepared, I had to step in and buy replacements for them. It was a reminder that supporting our children goes beyond prayer. It also means identifying their needs and doing what we can to help them overcome the challenges they face.
As parents and teachers, we have a shared responsibility to give these candidates both spiritual and practical support. Every child deserves an opportunity to sit their examinations with confidence, knowing that the people around them care about their well-being and future.
The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6 (NIV):
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
This verse encourages us to bring our concerns before God and trust Him through every situation. As the examination period approaches, we commit our candidates into His hands, asking for His protection, guidance, and peace.
We encourage all the candidates to remain focused, revise diligently, take care of their health, and trust God as they prepare for their examinations.
May God protect every candidate, grant them wisdom and strength, and bless the work of their hands. May their efforts bear fruit and open doors to a brighter future.
