Cooking Our Food
Here we use the 3 stones or 3 fireplace as a stove. Then we light sticks and place pot on it. It easy the cheapest that our poor people can afford. But the effects are that the smoke emitted is so poisonous to the women they sometimes get cancer, just the way cigarette smokers do. At times the children develop eye problems that affect there education, and many deaths have been reported as a result of house fires from sparks because they are grass thatched.
We pray for blessings to get improved stoves for the families. They cant afford them, but they emit less smoke and are safe for children. Please consider a donation to help us purchase safe cooking stoves.
Baptism at Church
We had visitors who came to our Church. We had a lovely teaching and after prayers, ADAMS a young man who had received Jesus requested for a baptism. We boarded their vans and went to River Yala.
Accompanied by other pastors from headquarter, I read the verses, then they dipped him in water as a sign of dying and rising with Jesus. There were celebrations as the congregations, and even those women who were washing clothes at the river, joined in praising the Lord.
Free Medical Clinic
It was a day of relief as many patients turned out in large numbers to get free treatment. Yes, due to poverty level many can’t afford to get treatment at government hospitals which do not only have few drugs but are far and out of reach.
This has made many to resort to Panadol to relieve the pains for all illness. Typhoid, Asthma, AIDS, Malaria, Pneumonia, etc. Thank God for the Team for the Help. At least they get treatment once in many years.
Visit from Canadians
Today we were privileged to welcome a team of white Canadians who visited our village. They got to painting of a laboratory they built at Bar Olengo health centre. They will conduct free medical camp in various places to help treat the sick. Here we have people suffering from eye, ear, tooth problems. But since they can’t afford to raise the amount required, they opt to stay at home. There for when such blessings come, people turn out in large numbers. In the last 2 years we had a team of Korean doctors. Thanks to God for this team.
