Battling Malaria: A Personal Journey and a Plea for Prayer

Since yesterday I have felt  a blur of chills, fevers, and an overwhelming sense of fatigue. I’m currently in the thick of it, battling a bout of malaria. Living in Kenya, it’s an unfortunate reality that many of us face.
The diagnosis, while expected given my symptoms, still hits hard.  I’m on the prescribed antimalarial drugs now, a cocktail of tablets that promise to fight off the infection and bring me back to health. Each dose feels like a small victory, a step closer to feeling like myself again.
But let me be honest, it’s tough. The body aches are relentless, the headaches pound, and the waves of nausea make even the thought of food unappealing. Sleep is often interrupted by shivers or sweats, leaving me feeling even more drained. It’s a reminder of how vulnerable we can be, and how much we rely on our health to simply navigate daily life.
In moments like these, when my physical strength feels depleted, my spirit turns to faith. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I would be incredibly grateful if you could keep me in your thoughts and prayers during this time. Please pray for the medication to work effectively, for my body to recover quickly, and for renewed strength and energy.
There’s a verse that I’ve been holding onto, a powerful reminder of God’s healing touch:
“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” – Jeremiah 17:14 (NIV)
This verse brings me comfort and hope, reminding me that even in sickness, there is a source of ultimate healing and strength.

Thank you for your support and for any prayers you can offer. It truly means the world to me.
Wishing you all good health.

Amplifying the Message: Our Church’s Urgent Need for Microphones

Microphones

Good morning ,evening family,In every church service, the Word of God is the central focus—the light that guides us, heals us, and draws us closer to Christ. At Salvation Gospel Church Obambo, we’ve continued to grow in spirit, fellowship, and numbers. With this growth comes the need to ensure that every voice lifted in praise and every word preached in truth reaches the ears and hearts of all who gather with us.

One major challenge we are currently facing is the lack of proper sound equipment—particularly microphones. During our Sunday services and weekly fellowships, the absence of functioning microphones has made it difficult for both the preacher and the choir to minister effectively. Words are lost in the air, voices strain to reach the back rows, and the power of our worship is often muffled when it should be soaring.

We are kindly appealing for support to acquire 2 to 3 quality microphones to improve our sound during services. These microphones will:

  • Help the pastor preach clearly without straining, ensuring that the entire congregation can hear the Word of God without difficulty.
  • Enable our choir to minister powerfully through music and praise, without their voices getting lost or overpowered by background noise.
  • Allow for smooth coordination during announcements, testimonies, and church programs.

This is not just about sound—it’s about souls. When the message is heard clearly, faith is stirred, hope is restored, and lives are changed.

We trust in the generosity of our church family, friends, and well-wishers. If you feel led to contribute toward this mission, your gift—whether big or small—will help amplify the Gospel in our midst.

Let’s join hands to ensure that no word goes unheard and no song goes unsung.

To support or inquire, please reach out to us via contact page via Email:[email protected]

Thank you, and may God bless you abundantly as you consider partnering with us in this vital need.

Many blessings and have a blessed new month of July 2025.

Reaching Out with Love — Supporting Widow Perez and Widower Raphael with Food

🕊️

By Pastor Samuel Omolo

In a world where many go unnoticed in their suffering, it is our Christian duty to reflect Christ’s love through acts of kindness. This past week, I had the honor of visiting and supporting two dear individuals from our community—Widower Raphael and Widow Perez—who are both enduring challenging times after losing their spouses and having no employment to sustain their daily needs.

Through your prayers and the grace of God, I was able to bring them basic food supplies to help them through these difficult days.

📸 Widower Raphael Receiving Support

Raphael, a humble and aged man, stood outside his small home with gratitude shining in his eyes. Though life has been hard without a partner and job, his spirit remains hopeful.

Raphael shared:
“Pastor Omolo, I don’t have words strong enough to express what I feel. When you showed up with food, I felt like God had heard my silent cry. Thank you for remembering people like me.”

📸 Widow Perez Being Assisted

Perez, a widow , was filled with emotion as she received food donations. The burden of being jobless after losing her husband has weighed heavily on her heart—but on this day, she was reminded that God still sends help through His people.

Perez said:
“Life has been very hard since my husband passed away. I lost him and almost lost my hope. But your visit brought light into my home. May God bless you abundantly for your kindness.”

These visits are not just about food—they are about restoring hope, showing love, and living out the Gospel in real and practical ways.

🙏 A Heartfelt Thanks

To all who continue to support our mission—thank you. Your encouragement and generosity make moments like these possible. If you feel moved to be part of this work, reach out. Let us continue being the hands and feet of Christ.

“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.” — Proverbs 19:17

Rodrick’s&Friends Journey: Learning Welding Before College

Well designed Gate by Rodrick and his friends.
Boys at work. They finished high school together

Meet Rodrick and his friends— a determined young men who completed high school last year and chose not to waste a single moment waiting for college. Instead, they rolled up their sleeves and decided to learn a valuable skill: welding.

With dreams in their hearts and fire in their  hands (literally and figuratively!), Rodrick and his friends  joined a local welding workshop to gain hands-on experience. They knew that learning a skill before starting college in September would not only give them confidence, but also open doors to future opportunities — both as  students and as  professionals.

I’ve had the privilege of supporting them through this journey. From paying  training fees and daily lunch to buying  the necessary tools, it’s been an honor to invest in their growth. Their dedication and willingness to learn inspire me every day.

As September approaches, Rodrick and friends  continue to shape metal and shape their future. I’m excited to see what lies ahead for them in college and beyond — and proud to have played a small part in their  story.

Let’s keep supporting young people like Rodrick and his friends  who are eager to learn, grow, and change their future — one skill at a time.
