It was a day of unimaginable sorrow for the family of Pastor Steve, his church, and the entire Christian community. What began as preparations to lay his beloved daughter to rest turned into an even greater tragedy when Pastor Steve himself was suddenly taken from us through a senseless act of violence at the hands of thugs.
Pastor Steve served faithfully as a shepherd in one of our sister churches in Randago. I had the privilege of meeting him some time ago when I was invited to minister at his church on a Sunday morning. Though our interaction was brief, his warmth, humility, and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on me. He was a man deeply committed to the work of God, passionately sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ since giving his life to the Lord in 2009.
Witnessing two coffins lying side by side from the same family was a heartbreaking sight that words can hardly describe. It was a moment filled with pain, shock, and countless unanswered questions. Such a profound loss has not only devastated his widow and two young children but has also left a deep wound in the hearts of many believers who knew and loved him.
Pastor Steve’s life was a testimony of faith, service, and dedication to God’s kingdom. He tirelessly reached out to people with the message of hope and salvation, touching many lives through his ministry. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the impact of his service will continue to speak for generations.
During this season of overwhelming grief, we find comfort in the promises of God. The Scriptures remind us:
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
As we mourn this painful loss, let us unite in prayer for Pastor Steve’s family, especially his grieving widow and young children. Let us also extend our love, support, and encouragement to them during this difficult time. May we become the hands and feet of Jesus, demonstrating His compassion and care in practical ways.
While our hearts are heavy, we hold firmly to the hope of eternal life found in Christ. Pastor Steve has finished his race and has gone to be with the Lord he faithfully served. May his legacy of faith, love, and devotion to the Gospel continue to inspire us all.
Rest in peace, Pastor Steve. Your labor in the Lord was not in vain, and your memory will forever remain in our hearts.
